"Sardinia Tree"

Origins & Inspirations:

 -I climbed this tree in Cagliari, the capital of Sardinia, Italy, while visiting a botanical garden. As a rainstorm erupted, I found shelter in its branches. The leaves were so large they shielded me from getting drenched.

-In my painting, I chose to omit the leaves and replace them with oversized flowers. I made this decision to capture the feelings of joy and appreciation that this enchanting tree evokes in me.

-I created this piece outdoors, incorporating actual soil into the oil paint for the roots.
