"Storm"

 12 x 12 inches

Acrylic on canvas

Inspirations:

-Remember the ice storm in February? I chose to play it safe and didn't drive to the studio that week. Fortunately, I discovered some acrylic paint at my house and made this piece!

-I utilized the "frottage method" for the background, a technique popularized by Max Ernst, a renowned surrealist artist from Germany (1891-1976). By transferring textures from various objects, such as sticks, directly onto the canvas, I was able to capture unique patterns. From there, I intuitively built the composition using colors reminiscent of the ice storm.
