Tessa Wilson (Dallas, Texas, b. 1996)
a dimensional artist exploring the depths of her being through multiple mediums. Her current series Rug Distortions (oil on canvas) came about from her exposure and fascination with antique carpets while working as the Gallery Manager at Farzin Rugs, Inc. from 2019 to 2022. In this work, the historic pieces take on a new role acting as a catalyst for self-expression as seen through the hidden messages intertwined amongst the distorted patterns.
Tessa's love of art began in her hometown Dallas, Texas where she excelled in art classes at a young age and won art competitions in high school. She went to college in Mississippi on scholarship earning her BFA in 2019 and is now a full-time studio artist.
Her daily practices of transcending the trauma and neurosis of human life enables the whimsical work to flow freely through her in hopes to uplift and inspire others.
