"Calla Lily"
30 x 36 inches
Oil on linen
Inspirations:
-The depicted calla lily draws inspiration from 1940s Mexican muralism. I experimented with optics, intentionally selecting the complementary colors red and green for their vibrant interplay. A dry brush blending technique was used to achieve the piece's soft effect.
Do you see...
...A bug's eyes fixed on the flower? I imagine one hovering near a bloom, moments away from pollination.
Imagine this artwork as a scene in a movie. What happens next?
