"Antique Turkish Oushak III"

Origins & Inspirations:

-Inspired by a particular Antique Turkish Oushak rug (photo below) I was captivated by it's colors and blossoms compelling me to explore a unique distortion on canvas. I pondered how the pattern might morph when squeezed through a slender tube into a parallel reality, giving rise to an hourglass figure decorated with an array of interesting symbols."

The Antique Turkish Oushak carpet, originating from the Oushak region of Turkey and produced primarily in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, is distinguished by its soft color palettes, spacious designs, and time-honored tradition of Turkish carpet weaving.
